Sebastiaan is an experienced lawyer within the Corporate, Commercial & Financial Litigation department. He represents (international) companies, shareholders, directors and supervisory directors in the prevention and resolution of corporate (Corporate Litigation) and commercial (Commercial Litigation) disputes.

Sebastiaan has broad experience in advising and litigating on a wide range of corporate and commercial issues. These include the liability of directors and supervisors, corporate governance, employee participation, (complex) disputes within partnerships such as joint ventures, continuing performance and distribution agreements, post-M&A disputes and attachment and enforcement disputes. In addition, Sebastiaan focuses on advising and litigating on ESG-related issues in a broad sense. Sebastiaan regularly represents parties before both the Enterprise Chamber, the ordinary civil courts (including in interim injunction proceedings), and in arbitration proceedings. He has a practical and down-to-earth mentality, which is appreciated by clients.

In 2023, Sebastiaan successfully completed the Corporate Litigation specialisation course at the Grotius Academy.

Before joining BarentsKrans, Sebastiaan worked for several years as an all-round consultant, assisting both national and international clients in a variety of projects. These include further professionalising the primary business processes of an (international) trading company and facilitating the integration between two merging media companies.

Finally, Sebastiaan regularly gives lectures and interviews on corporate law topics, for example for the Academy of Legal Practice.
