Welcoming Marc Elshof to the firm on 1 October 2023, BarentsKrans will gain a new partner with extensive experience in the field of technology, data and privacy. Three members of his team are also making the move to BarentsKrans, with the firm of lawyers and civil-law notaries thus further expanding its IP, Data & Technology practice and broadening its services.
Over the years, Marc Elshof’s practice has grown into one of the larger Technology and Data practices in the Netherlands. His team has extensive experience in handling complex IT and data protection matters, as well as cybersecurity issues; it also has expertise in e-commerce.
With new data and technology regulations in the pipeline, businesses have a lot to deal with. An integrated and pragmatic approach is needed to translate these regulations into concrete policies and processes. This expansion allows the firm to anticipate on future developments and client challenges.
In addition to Marc Elshof, Anouschka van de Graaf, Job Julicher and Julius Louter are also switching to BarentsKrans. Having worked at BarentsKrans earlier in her career, Anouschka will be in familiar territory. Recently, Jan Jacobi also moved to BarentsKrans.

Marc has been working as a lawyer since 2007. At Dentons, he started building a Technology and Privacy practice in 2013 after six years in litigation. Two years later, he joined Dentons’ partner group, leading the European Data Privacy & Security practice group since 2019 and the European Technology, Media & Telecommunications industry group since 2022.
