R.A.A. Duk LLM (1947) studied law at the University of Amsterdam and Columbia University School of Law. After having worked at the University of Amsterdam as an academic staff member specialised in social-economics law from 1970 to 1972, he has been practising as a lawyer in The Hague since 1 April 1972, initially with the present law firm De Brauw Blackstone Westbroek and, since 1 January 2012, with BarentsKrans.
Rogier is highly specialised in labour (individual and collective), employment contract and employees’ participation law. He is an experienced litigator, also in the field of Supreme Court litigation. He is the editor of SEW and TRA (formerly SMA) and publishes regularly. Together with Prof Bouwens, he edited Van der Grinten Arbeidsovereenkomstenrecht (Van der Grinten Employment Contract Law) (the 26rd edition will be available in the autumn of 2017). He also teaches a number of refresher courses for university graduates, for example, for the Grotius Academy, the ‘Academie voor de Rechtspraktijk‘ and the Training and Study Centre for the Judiciary (SSR).
From November 2013 until November 2015, Rogier Duk was an affiliate professor for Special Labour Relations at the Erasmus School of Law.
