As a lawyer, Joris specialises in public and utilities procurement law and in civil construction law.
In his procurement law practice, Joris provides clients with advice on tender procedures relating to common subjects such as asking contracting authorities the right questions, preventing errors in tenders and the opportunity of filing preliminary proceedings concerning the award decision. Joris acts for both contracting parties as well as contracting authorities in this respect. Joris is especially experienced with matters relating to the procurement of contracts in the fields of construction and ICT.
With regard to construction law, Joris has extensive experience with matters relating to building and consulting contracts. These matters involve the classic building contracts applying the Uniform Administrative Conditions for the Execution of Works and Technical Installation Works (UAC), integrated contracts applying the Uniform Administrative Condition for Integrated Contracts 2005 (UAV-GC 2005) and contracts between clients and consultants. Joris, among other subjects, advises on the content of building contracts and the (further) realisation of construction works, such as changes in construction works, additional and reduced works including the costs thereof and the consequences of exceeding the delivery date. Joris has experience with litigation before the Dutch Courts as well as before the Arbitration board for the building industry.
Because of his experience with both public procurement law and civil construction law, Joris can advise and litigate on the intersection of both legal areas, obtaining the best possible results for his clients.
