Gidget (partner since 2008) is an experienced lawyer with a pragmatic approach. She advises companies on a wide range of complex issues regarding financial services regulatory (Act on financial supervision, “Wet op het financieel toezicht”), such as compliance, governance and risk management, market conduct and permissibility of activities and investments.
The focus of Gidget’s expertise is investment firms (MIFID II), investment funds (AIFMD, UCITS), consumer credit offerers (f.e. lease companies) and payment services providers (PSD II). She has special expertise with respect to alternative/innovative financing, such as crowdfunding, credit unions and cryptocurrency. Gidget also works closely together with the Corporate/M&A department on regulatory aspects of (cross-border) transactions or restructurings.
Her clients include (national and international) investment funds, private banks, institutional investors, fund placement agencies, investment managers, companies who want to raise capital (f.e. by way of issuing securities or setting up a fund), consumer credit offerers, lease companies and fintech companies. Gidget also assists (new) companies to obtain a license from the Dutch Financial Authority or Dutch Central Bank.
