BarentsKrans incorporated UNIIQ, an investment fund in which the universities of Leyden, Delft and Rotterdam participate, together with InnovationQuarter (the regional economic development agency for the province of South-Holland). UNIIQ has an initial capital of EUR 22 mln, raised through European subsidies and contributions from the Dutch State, the province of South-Holland and the municipality of Leyden. The newly established investment fund mainly targets start-ups and university spin-offs. Start-up ambassador Neelie Kroes officially launched UNIIQ on 20 June 2016.
