Remco has worked as a lawyer in project development and public sector practice since 1999, with a special focus on administrative and environmental law. In particular he acts on behalf of property developers, contractors, local and regional authorities, and real estate investors. Remco has a great deal of experience in providing legal assistance for complex projects (including construction projects), supporting his clients from initial planning right through to completion. In addition Remco is frequently involved in environmental law and enforcement disputes between government authorities and industry.
Besides a wealth of knowledge of administrative and environmental law, Remco has the requisite expertise in private law in relation to the public sector, tenancy law, construction law, and property development. As well as giving advice and litigating before various judicial authorities and the Administrative Jurisdiction Division of the Council of State, he assists his clients in the drafting and negotiating of, among other things, operating agreements and building, turnkey and land allocation contracts.
Remco has been, and continues to be, involved in a number of major projects such as setting up the first environmental zone for passenger vehicles in one of the Dutch cities, the planning and development of the tallest residential tower block in the Netherlands, and litigation in various other major construction projects.
Before joining BarentsKrans Remco was with Loyens & Loeff in Rotterdam for fifteen years, working in their administrative law and real estate practice.
