Legal 500 rankings: more tribute to BarentsKrans

It rains classifications at BarentsKrans. Besides the Chambers Europe 2017 rankings that were released this week, Legal 500 also made its appearance yesterday. This party assesses the strengths of law firms in over 100 jurisdictions worldwide. And we are once again extremely proud of the results!

How are the Legal 500 rankings developed?

Legal 500 highlights those lawyers that provide the most cutting edge and innovative advice to corporate counsel. The rankings are based upon feedback of more than 300,000 clients worldwide, along with submissions from law firms themselves, interviews with leading private practice lawyers, and a team of independent researchers that combines the results. Legal 500 is a completely independent entity and has been doing this for 28 years now.

In what areas does BarentsKrans excel?

Similar to last year, BarentsKrans has been marked ‘top tier firm’ in the practice area of employment law in 2017. As a crowning achievement of his latest work, our youngest partner Laurens de Graaf has been given the status of ‘next generation lawyer’ within this practice area. Rogier Duk has once again been named ‘leading individual’.
Particularly strong in litigation, the very knowledgeable team gives to-the-point advice.

It is superb that the real estate and private equity teams have been given a tier 4 and tier 5 ranking consecutively for the very first time this year.

Furthermore, sixteen of our lawyers have been recommended in the following practice areas: corporate/M&A, commercial litigation, EU and competition, healthcare and life sciences and intellectual property. The appraisals have been categorised and substantiated as follows:
