The Legal 500 heeft zijn rankings voor 2015 gepubliceerd. Op basis van uitgebreid onderzoek dat jaarlijks wordt uitgevoerd in de markt en onder cliënten, stelt Legal 500 een lijst samen van advocaten- en notarissen per rechtsgebied. BarentsKrans wordt aanbevolen in 7 rechtsgebieden, te weten: Corporate, Arbeidsrecht, mededinging & aanbesteding, Intellectueel Eigendom, private equity, vastgoed en commercial litigation.

Commercial litigation  / dispute resolution – tier 2
BarentsKrans has a strong track record in litigation and appeals, including at the Supreme Court through highly recommended practice co-heads Rieme-Jan Tjittes and Jan-Paul Heering. Competition litigation is another area of strength, in which Martijn van Maanen is representing Equilib in the air cargo cartel follow-on damages cases. Rogier Duk is recommended.

Employment – tier 2
‘Quick, creative and to-the-point’, BarentsKrans’ team draws on longstanding experience in the employment arena, with three partners having been in practice for over 30 years: Max Keulaerds, Supreme Court litigator Rogier Duk and the ‘articulate and service-oriented’ Peter Vas Nunes all receive praise. Cartel damages litigation remains a key area of strength at BarentsKrans, although the team has also seen an uptick in merger control work. Public procurement and state aid also come within practice head Joost Fanoy’s areas of expertise.

BarentsKrans advises corporates, private equity investors, management and shareholders on domestic and cross-border mandates. Nick Surber’s practice has a particular focus on Germany-based clients and transactions. Harry Rek joined from Bird & Bird, and the team also expanded at the senior associate level.
