Amsterdam, 30 October 2025 – As of 1 November 2025, Meltem Koning-Gungormez will join BarentsKrans as a partner, based in the firm’s Amsterdam Zuidas office. Lawyer Derk Jansen will also join the firm. Their arrival reinforces BarentsKrans’ position as a leading strategic advisor in mid-market transactions and signals a significant step forward for the firm in further growing its Amsterdam practice.
A lawyer since 2006, Ms Koning-Gungormez will join the firm from Van Doorne, where she has been a partner since 2020. She specialises in corporate law, (cross-border) M&A, private equity and venture capital transactions, she advises private equity investors, venture capital funds, and companies in various sectors, including technology, energy, retail (including e-commerce), food, and the media. Ms Koning-Gungormez brings a strong international profile, having gained experience at Stibbe in New York and built an extensive network in the United States, the United Kingdom, Germany, Sweden, and other countries.
Her arrival marks an important milestone in the further expansion of BarentsKrans’ Amsterdam office, where Ms Koning-Gungormez will focus on strengthening the Corporate / M&A practice. With a proven track record in assisting in complex national and cross-border transactions with a focus on pragmatic solutions, strategic alignment and execution speed, her presence in Amsterdam will strengthen BarentsKrans’ positioning as a strategic partner for companies and investors active in the mid-market.
With her, lawyer Derk Jansen will also join BarentsKrans. Jansen has been a lawyer since 2024 and specialises in Corporate / M&A. He also gained experience in the IT & Outsourcing team.
