Banking Litigation Network conference at BarentsKrans

On the first of April 2022 BarentsKrans hosted the annual Banking Litigation Network conference. The Banking Litigation Network is a network of law firms from around the world with specialist experience of acting for clients in disputes with banks and other financial institutions. Its’ main objective is to provide members with ready access to a law firm in another country, that the member might wish to appoint for assistance on a client’s behalf. The network currently has members in over 30 jurisdictions.

The conference of this year addressed – next to developments in the several jurisdictions – practical experience of crypto asset recovery, the bank’s duty of care to customers to help prevent payment fraud, use of the assignment model vs class action litigation and litigation funding.

William Schonewille is a member of the Banking Litigation Network on behalf of BarentsKrans. William: “Being able to exchange ideas at a live conference has been a true inspiration for all participants, especially after two years of online alternatives. We have been able to quench our thirst for knowledge and the presence of so many specialists.”
