BarentsKrans has assisted Teknow Systems B.V., one of the shareholders in the recycling company Xycle Holding B.V., with a new round of investment in the company. A consortium including Dow Chemical, Vopak, ING and InvestNL has invested tens of millions in the recycling company.

Xycle will use the investment to build a new factory in the port of Rotterdam, where it will eventually process 20,000 tons of waste per year. Xycle uses a unique method of recycling – pyrolysis – which breaks down plastic waste into molecules to create pyrolysis oil. Clients can mix the product with their own fossil raw materials to create new plastic, without loss of quality.
