BarentsKrans advises ABP and ETF on their investment in Next Sense

Stichting Pensioenfonds ABP and ETF Partners have invested in Next Sense, a company that uses smart technologies to effectively decarbonise commercial real estate. Their platform uses data, simulations and AI control to optimize and lay out a multi-year investment strategy that slashes CO2 footprints in compliance with ESG benchmarks.

Ferdinand Grapperhaus, CEO of Next Sense, expressed his enthusiasm about the funding: “We are incredibly proud to welcome ABP and ETF Partners to the Next Sense family. With their expertise, reach, and commitment to impact, we are even better equipped for further international expansion. Additionally, we are deeply grateful for the renewed trust from our existing shareholders: Edge, SHAPE Capital, and Timeless Investments. Together, we are driving innovation to reduce the footprint of the built environment. It’s a mission full of challenges, and this is the beginning of a breakthrough.”

The BarentsKrans team that advised ABP and ETF Partners on this investment consisted of Thomas van Hövell, Floor Leenders, Marlou Timmerman, Lars Veenhuijzen and Marieke Vollebregt-Verschoor. Jan Jacobi, Marc Elshof, Julius Louter and Job Julicher were part of the due diligence team.
