Gidget Brugman heads both the financial litigation practice group and the litigation department. Gidget focuses her practice on duty of care of financial undertakings, prospectus liability, offering and mediating of credit, financial service providers, financial supervision, financial product approval, issue and offering of financial product,s market access and compliance.
She has extensive experience in complex (securities) litigation, both on an individual as class action basis before courts (district courts and Courts of appeal) and complaint commitees.
Examples of relevant work
Acting for the Foundation Oblidaf against ABN AMRO Bank N.V. and Foundation Ofasec;
Acting for investors against large independent investment firm, Wijs & Van Oostveen N.V., in a securities class action case;
Acting for various investors on individual basis (securities litigation) against amongst others ABN AMRO Bank N.V., ING Bank N.V., Rabobank, F. van Lanschot Bankiers N.V. and SNS Bank N.V.;
Advising and assisting one of the largest financial services providers in the automobile branch on various issues such as product approval, compliance and rule of conduct;
Advising an international financial service provider and assisting (offering of credit) on product approval, product innovation and compliance;
Advising and assisting a multinational corporation on financial product approval and market access.
