Financial law is a specialised field that is subject to constant change as a result of dynamic legislation and ongoing developments on the financial markets. BarentsKrans' Financial Litigation group has been a pioneer in this ever-changing field of law for many years and has built up an excellent reputation. The practice group consists of a team of seven lawyers specialised in financial litigation and advice.

Litigation practice
Our attorneys litigate on financial products, loans & credit, asset management, investment advisory services, execution only, derivatives trade and misleading prospectuses. We can analyse your legal position, determine the litigation strategy together with you, conduct negotiations and assist you in proceedings, either in court or before bodies such as the Netherlands Financial Services Complaints Institute.

The practice group has particular expertise in litigating financial class actions. Highlights include our successful class action work for the ObliDAF, Volendam, Leaseverlies, Eegalease and Verliespolis foundations.

Advisory practice
Our practice group also provides advisory services with respect to the field of ever more far-reaching regulatory legislation in the financial sector. We can advise on the regulatory aspects of the organisation and operations of financial service providers and the set up of investment funds. We can also assist you with issuing and offering of securities and arrange and assist the application for permits from the AFM regulator and the Dutch Central Bank (DNB). Additionally, we can assist the drafting and creation of the necessary documentation required by the regulators. We also evaluate new financial products and can assist and advise you in the development of such products.
